Scrap Metal Price Calculator
Pick a metal and grade, enter the weight, and we’ll multiply it by the published price per kilogram. Where a record has a price range, you get a low and a high estimate.
Your estimate will appear here
Estimated value = weight in kg × price per kg. For a price range we show both the low and high value.
How the calculation works
Estimated value = weight in kilograms × price per kilogram. If you enter tonnes, we convert first: 1 metric tonne = 1,000 kg.
| Example | Weight | Price | Estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single price | 20 kg | £X.XX/kg | 20 × X.XX |
| Price range | 0.5 tonnes (500 kg) | £A–£B/kg | 500 × A to 500 × B |
The examples use letters rather than numbers on purpose — real figures come only from verified records.
When we won’t give a figure
If the only record for a grade was verified more than 14 days ago, or is marked unavailable, the calculator explains why instead of showing a number. An out-of-date price could be badly wrong in a market that moves daily.
